The following images and footage were taken by residents and others concerned about the dramatic flooding in and around the village of Titchmarsh in January 2024. Much of the flooding occurred in the lower part of the village known as Polopit. This area is directly behind and below the proposed building plateau of the Castle Manor Farm site shown below in yellow.
At least one brook (shown in blue) feeds directly from the site down a steep gradient and into Polopit. The area shaded red show the road through Polopit which is always subject to flooding during even modest sustained rainfall.
Even without the brook, the contours of the land directs any rainfall down into Polopit. Flooding a regular occurrence, as shown in the photos below:
